Workshops and Special Sessions:Papers reporting original and unpublished research results on above and related ISE topics are solicited. Submission should include, on the cover page (an MS Word document), authors names, affiliations, addresses, fax and phone numbers, and email addresses. Please indicate clearly the corresponding author. Include up to 5 keywords (topic area) from the above list, and an abstract of no more than 300 words.
Electronic submissions of manuscripts are requested and will be accepted in PDF format (preferred) as attachment. Please submit a copy of your full manuscript (not to exceed 18 double-spaced pages including figures, tables, and references) to: Waleed W. Smari, Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Dayton, 300 College Park, Dayton, OH 45469-0226, USA, Voice: (937) 229-2795, Fax: (937) 229-4529, Email: Waleed.Smari@notes.udayton.edu. The subject of the email must be "ISE 2003 Submission."
Consistent with standard practice, each submitted paper will receive a minimum of three reviews. Papers will be selected based on their correctness, originality, timeliness, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Initial selection will be based on full papers. Reviewers' comments will be provided to the authors. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted. All accepted papers in the conference are expected to be presented and will be included in the conference proceedings.
Poster, Work-in-Progress, and Industrial track papers will also be accepted. Please indicate clearly whether you would like your paper to be considered as a main track or in one of these three tracks. Poster papers may not be published in the proceedings but will be presented as poster papers. This is to encourage work that is not yet advanced enough for a full paper, novel approaches and ideas, critique of existing work, and application examples.
Tutorials:Proposals for Special Sessions should be emailed by March 14, 2003. The proposal should include pertinent information such as a title, name and full contact information of organizer, session description, and submission instructions.
Exhibits and Demonstrations:The conference will also offer tutorials (2-4 hour) on the state-of-the-art topics in ISE. Each tutorial proposal should provide a title, topics to be covered, targeted audience, prerequisites, and a brief biography and qualifications of the instructor. Proposals are due by March 14, 2003.
Panels:Exhibits, demos and experiential showcases of interactive information systems are highly encouraged. These may include any of the themes outlined in the conference’s topics. Proposals for exhibits and demos are welcomed and should provide a title, short description, and contact information. Deadline is March 14, 2003.
Important Dates:A panel session will examine innovative, promising, or controversial ISE issues today. The panel will also address ISE challenges and future prospects. Audience participation will be sought. Panel session ideas, nominations for panelists, and proposals are also solicited and should be submitted with a title and short description along with contact information. Due date is March 14, 2003.
