Call for Papers

Workshop on Autonomic Computing

Submission Deadline: February 28, 2006

As computer systems are becoming more complex, interconnected, and diverse, their management will soon be beyond the capabilities of even the most skilled system managers. Autonomic computing is emerging as viable approach to bring a new level of self-management to these systems through self-healing, self-optimizing, self-configuring and self-protection functionalities. The objective of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners to address different aspects of autonomic computing. Papers are solicited on topics, which include, but not limited to:

• The self-X principles and mechanisms of autonomic computing.
• Autonomic computing systems.
• Self-managing components.
• Autonomic computing toolkit.
• Autonomic computing applications.
• Performance analysis and modeling of autonomic systems.
• Technologies supporting self-management.
• Recovery oriented computing.
• Experiences with autonomic system or component.
• Interfaces to autonomic components and systems.

Submission Instructions:

Papers reporting original and unpublished research results on above and related autonomic computing and HPC topics are solicited. Please submit an electronic copy of your full manuscript (not to exceed 15 double-spaced pages or 8 double-column single-space IEEE formatted pages, including figures, tables, and references). Please clearly indicate the corresponding author. Include up to 6 keywords from the above list and an abstract of no more than 300 words. Papers should be submitted - in .pdf (preferred), PostScript, or word .doc format via email to bai@engr.newpaltz.edu. If accepted, the final camera-ready manuscript will follow the ECMS 2006 format, which will be made available to all authors. Consistent with standard practice, each submitted paper will receive a minimum of three reviews. Papers will be selected based on their originality, timeliness, significance, relevance, and clarity of presentation. Initial selection will be based on full papers. Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to register and present the paper, if accepted. All accepted papers in the conference are required to be presented and will be included in the conference proceedings.
