SPECIAL SESSION V
e-Design and Realization
of Engineered Products and Systems
Paper
Submission Deadline: October 15, 2003
Brief Description:
This session will examine research in e-Design and realization of engineered
products and systems involving conceptualizing, designing and realizing a
product using tools that allow for interoperability of remote and heterogeneous
systems, collaboration among remote supply chain and multidisciplinary
enterprise product design team stakeholders, and virtual testing and validation
of a product in a secure Internet based information infrastructure.
Presentations may center on issues such as:
collaborative and interoperable tools for Internet based designer systems, lean
data exchange, remote constraint imposition, design optimization, constraint
representation and management, virtual product simulation and prototyping,
information infrastructure for e-Design
and realization systems, conceptual design tools in e-Design, and active customer participation through direct
preference imposition, etc.
