Energy Informatics

Energy informatics is the process of extracting useful information from energy data sets.  These data sets may consist of only a few readings of monthly utility bills or thousands of observations collected by energy management control systems or dedicated data loggers.  To extract useful information with minimal effort, graphical, statistical and analytical methods have been developed and incorporated into software.  The software allows users to quickly explore, manipulate and model energy data sets, characterize baseline energy use, disaggregate energy use into components, identify energy saving opportunities, measure retrofit savings and perform many other useful tasks.
