January 27th Geometric Modeling Lab I We will not meet at 4:30. Instead, there is optional lab time: KL 203, 7:15 - 9:15 PM. Crash course (review) in IDEAS. If you are nervous about your IDEAS or geometric modeling skills, attendance is strongly encouraged! The reading of Del Vecchio, pgs. 1 - 176, should be completed prior to the next meeting; read the journal exercises and you'll see why.
February 1st Toys 'R' Us Depart Kettering Labs at 4:30 PM. Return by 6:30 PM.
February 3rd Geometric Modeling Lab II We will not meet at 4:30. Instead, there is rubber novelty toy development time: KL 203, 7:15 - 9:15 PM. A CAD file of your rubber novelty toy is due via email Sunday, February 6th at midnight. The reading of Del Vecchio should be completed by this meeting.

March 8th Shmock-Up Presentations A shmock-up is a first iteration prototype. It is a model made from readily available objects and materials that attempts to capture the form and function of the final design. Readily available objects and materials include paper, cardboard, paper clips, tape, glue, Styrofoam, tacks, pencils, cups, tennis balls, CDs, balsa wood, etc. Purchases are not required (and even discouraged) but should not be avoided if they cause extra work to be simply remedied. You will not be reimbursed. Machining is not required (and even discouraged). Again, do not hesitate to use a drill should your shmock-up require it.
