Mechanical Engineering Technology emphasizes practical applications of the principles in the mechanical field. Design, manufacturing and management problems are the professional concern of the mechanical  engineering technologist.

The mechanical engineering technology program is an integrated, four-year program leading to the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology. The curriculum includes strong emphasis in mechanical and computer-aided design and manufacturing, along with thermal systems.

The program of study for students of mechanical engineering technology includes a series of courses which provide general education in the humanities, arts, social and natural sciences. The technical courses emphasize the use of rational thinking in the solution of technological problems.

The program's objective is to provide collegiate education for young men and women preparing to become competent engineering technologists. Its strength lies in the orientation toward design, problem solving and practical application of mechanical principles. Students have access to modern,
industrial-scale equipment for computer-aided design, robotics and computer numerical control machining as well as conventional laboratory equipment.

This program is accredited by the Technology Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (TAC/ABET).
