Professor Amin Ismail, AET, BT, MCS. Prof. Ismail is an alumnus of the department and joined the department as a full-time faculty member in 1981. However he has been at UD since 1975 and worked at the University as a part-time instructor for Continuing Education courses in microprocessors as a consultant to the Dean of Engineering. He is also a consultant for various firms in Dayton and owns his own company. Besides teaching courses in Microprocessors and Digital Electronics, he also serves as editor of EET NEWS. His hobbies include swimming, and all other watersports, especially windsurfing .

Part-time Experience

  • July 1991 to Present - Instructor for the Governor's Summer Institute for the Gifted and Talented.
  • January 1988 to present - Electronic Process Control Consultant to Milmar Century Corporation, Troy, Ohio.
  • July 1986 to Present - Instructor for the University of Dayton Women in Engineering Program.
  • December 1985 to July 1986 - Worked with the United States Air Force under contract: F 33601-84-C0437 on the development of a microprocessor controlled relay life test system.
  • May 1983 to present - Instructor for the Air Force Logistics Command (AFLC) Fast-track program.
  • May 1982 to June 1982 - Instructor for a short course in digital electronics and microprocessors at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT).
  • January 1981 to April 1981 - Instructor for a short course in microprocessor systems at Kettering College for Medical Arts.
  • August 1980 to present - Director and part-owner of a consulting firm for microprocessor systems.
  • August 1980 to May 1987- Computer software and systems consultant to the Dean of Engineering, University of Dayton.
  • December 1979 to August 1980 - Involved in the development of a microcomputer time-sharing computer facility for the University of Dayton, School of Engineering.
  • December 1978 to January 1981 - Instructor for an intensive introductory continuing education course on microprocessors.
  • December 1978 to January 1981 - Instructor for a continuing education course in microcomputer project design.
