EET 463L: Electronic Cad Laboratory

Credits and Contact Hrs. (Lecture/Laboratory): 1 credit, 3 contact hours per week. 

Course Description: To accompany EET 463, three laboratory hours per week. 

Prerequisites: Knowledge of the electronic fundamentals involved in the design tasks. 

Co-Requisites: None

Goals/Objectives: Provide the student with a working knowledge of one software applications package used in performing electronic computer aided design. applications software. 

Course topics and lecture hours devoted to each topic:  

  • Software and hardware familiarization. (3 hrs.)
  • Create a schematic symbol using the library editor. (3 hrs)
  • Create the first project called TEST. (3 hrs.)
  • The application of annotate, erc, and netlist to TEST. (3 hrs.)
  • The second project called MUX. (3 hrs.)
  • Drawing and processing the project called RING. (3 hrs.)
  • Produce printed circuit boards of the previous projects. (3 hrs.)
  • Using schematic capture on the project called OPAMP. (3 hrs.)
  • Drawing the schematic 4BITADD. (3 hrs.)
  • Begin work on the large project. (3 hrs.)
  • Continue work on the large project. (3 hrs.)
  • Computer usage: All work is to be done on a computer using Orcad software on the department network.
